SED Punjab, PITB & Tech Valley Sign MoU for 'Digital Safer Future'

An MoU was signed between School Education Department (SED), PITB and Tech Valley to initiate 'Digital Safer Future' project in Punjab aimed at training 1000 STEM teachers. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikander Hayat, PITB DG (e-Governance) Sajid Latif and Tech Valley CEO Umar Farooq inked the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. Google for Education Pakistan Consultant Harris Sufiyan was also present on the occasion.

As per the MoU, the 1000 STEM teachers trained under this initiative will then teach and train 50,000 students of Grades 6, 7, and 8 on essential digital literacy skills, including online safety and basic coding. PITB ADG-IT Kashif Farooq, SPM Maryam Shahzadi & Google Career Certificates Scholarship Program PM Karishma Mehtab, Communications Lead Nishwa Ibrar and Tech Valley Manager Outreach & Coordination Madiha Hussain Mongol were also present. All the stakeholders will collaborate, coordinate & enhance digital literacy by fostering innovation in students and teachers.
