Punjab Government Launches Computerized Dealer Vehicle Registration System

With the assistance of PITB as its technical arm, the Excise Department in collaboration with National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has developed a computerized dealer vehicle registration system. All vehicles shall now be registered at the dealers before leaving the showroom. The easy process shall facilitate citizens as they wouldn’t have to wait in long queues for registrations and number plates. Introduction of the system shall not only minimize revenue losses attributed to unregistered vehicles but also eliminate the law and order threat.
Signing ceremony of MOU between Excise Department, NBP and PITB was held today. The ceremony, covered widely by media, was attended by Secretary Excise Dr Ahmad Bilal, DG Akram Ashraf Gondal, Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif, Senior Member SMU Salman Sufi, VP National Bank Mohsin Furqan and other relevant officers.
