PITB, HBL and Visa Partner to Digitize Government Payments in Pakistan

In a groundbreaking move to revolutionize financial transactions within the public sector, PITB, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) and Visa have joined forces to digitize payments in Pakistan. This strategic partnership aims to enhance the efficiency, transparency and security of online payments to various government and private institutions throughout Pakistan.

The meeting was chaired by PITB ADG- IT Operations Syed Qasim Ifzal. He was accompanied by PITB Director Development & Procurement Atta-ur-Rehman, Project Director Haroon Rasul Khokhar and Joint Director Syed Ijlal Hussain.

In this regard, Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf stated that the digitization of the economy is one of the key drivers in PITB’s march forward. The world is rapidly evolving and the future demands innovative solutions like Payzen to address the challenges in the financial sector. This collaboration with HBL and Visa marks a significant milestone in bringing convenience and ease to the lives of citizens.

Acting as the primary interface for government and private payments, PITB’s PayZen will ensure that the process remains transparent, accessible, and user-friendly for the citizens of Pakistan.

Visa, a world leader in digital payments, will provide the technological backbone for this initiative through its advanced gateway platform. This partnership is a significant leap towards digital governance. It aligns with the government's vision of a digital Pakistan. HBL will be pivotal in facilitating seamless digital transactions. Utilizing its robust merchant payment solutions, HBL will enable secure and efficient online payments through PITB’s PayZen platform.
