Meeting Held On Drugs Eradication Via ICT Interventions

A meeting was held among PITB, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to explore technological solutions to combat drugs-related crimes in Pakistan.

The meeting was chaired by PITB ADG Syed Qasim Afzal and was attended by ANF representatives Brigadier Rashid Ahmed, Brigadier Sikander and ANF Director IT Khizar. Representatives from UNODC Senior Program Manager Syed Arsalan Zaidi and Program Associate Syed Sibtain Ali Shah were also present.

PITB Joint Director Rai Rashid and Senior Software Engineer Mamoon Sharif gave a detailed presentation on the in-house developed IT tools employed by the law enforcement agencies and emphasized on their effectiveness in enhancing operational capabilities.

The delegation also visited PITB Data Center, where they were a detailed overview of the technological infrastructure and protocols in place. Both teams expressed strong interest in further collaboration and discussed the way forward.
