PITB, in collaboration with Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO) Pakistan, held a two-day comprehensive training session on the Pakistan Animal Identification and Traceability System (PAITS) for the Livestock Department in Shaheed Benazirabad (SBA) Sindh. The training session was attended by the government officials as well as local livestock farmers of SBA.
The training session covered key features of PAITS, including Animal Registration, Health and Traceability, providing the participants with hands-on experience of the Mobile Application. The participants took keen interest in the practical training, acknowledging PAITS' potential to enhance Livestock Identification, Health and Traceability.
FAO Pakistan intends to make SBA a model district to leverage PAITS with an aim to improve Livestock Management and Disease Control. Furthermore, the initiative would be rolled out across the province with the support of Livestock Department Sindh.
PAITS, developed by PITB for FAO Pakistan, is designed as per international standards. It also facilitates animal import and export, playing a key role in boosting Pakistan's economy.
