PITB delegation visited different stakeholder departments of Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) under the criminal and justice sector as part of its ‘Digital Justice’ initiative.
The core objective was to conduct a survey of the existing systems at the different stakeholder departments including Police, Prosecution, Prisons and the Courts in Islamabad, Peshawar and Swabi. This extensive exercise was conducted in collaboration with 'Cursor of Development & Education Pakistan.'
The delegation, comprising team members from the IT-Operations wing Senior Program Manager Salman Ali Khan, Manager System Administration Sajid Azeem and Program Officer Anum Saeed, had series of meetings with different key officials namely Session Judge Kamran Basharat Mufti at the Islamabad High Court, Session Judge/Additional Registrar NJCP & Legal / Director IT Ghulam Abbas at the Peshawar High Court, District Session Judge Ashfaq Taj at the Judicial Complex Swabi District and District Police Officer Haroon Rashid Khan and others.
The overall goal of this initiative is to leverage technology so to streamline processes, improve efficiency and enhance transparency in the justice system.
