Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo chaired a meeting with key stakeholders to review the implementation progress of major agriculture initiatives, including the ‘Chief Minister’s (CM’s) Program for Solarization of Agriculture Tube-Wells in Punjab’ and ‘CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme'.
PITB Joint Director Usman Waheed highlighted PITB's integral role in developing end-to-end digital solutions to ensure the success of these programs. He also gave an overview of the process flows and the operational challenges of the above mentioned initiatives.
The Agriculture Secretary appreciated PITB's efforts in supporting the digitization and facilitation of these initiatives, particularly the ‘CM Punjab Green Tractor Scheme’ and encouraged a collaborative approach for seamless execution. He also highlighted the importance of timely implementation to maximize benefits for the farming community.
Senior representatives from the Bank of Punjab (BOP) and the Agriculture Department participated in the meeting, contributing valuable insights and discussing strategies to overcome challenges.
The meeting concluded with actionable recommendations for expediting the implementation of these key agricultural projects, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth of the sector. The Agriculture Secretary also gave directions to PITB for preparations and arranging the Balloting of ‘CM’s Program for Solarization of Agriculture Tube-Wells in Punjab.’
