PITB held the second session with the delegation from National Centre for State Courts (NCSC) and Cursor for Development and Education (CODE) Pakistan that is visiting PITB as part of the ‘Digitally Integrated Criminal Justice System’ initiative, a joint endeavor with CODE Pakistan and NCSC. The delegation included Principal Consultant & Digital Transformation Expert National Centre for State Courts (NCSC) Carlos E. Jimenez Gomez and Cursor for Development & Education (CODE) Pakistan representative Waleed Yawar.
The session was chaired by PITB Additional Director General (ADG) Syed Qasim Afzal, who gave a detailed insight into the current state of the criminal justice sector. He also highlighted the challenges and the strategic steps required to ensure the successful implementation of the ‘Digitally Integrated Criminal Justice System’ that aims to revolutionize the justice system through cutting-edge digital solutions.
Furthermore, Director Project Management Jamal Ahmad provided an in-depth briefing on PITB’s technical procedures. The delegation also visited PITB established e-Khidmat Center in the premises of Arfa Software Technology Park. During the visit, PITB Senior Program Managers Salman Ali Khan and Qasim Tufail gave them an overview of the state-of-the-art government services being offered under one roof and gave a briefing on how it has benefitted both the government and the citizens across Punjab.
Overall, the session fostered meaningful discussions with all the participants contributing valuable input to refine the approach and ensure alignment with the initiative’s goals. Together, these efforts underscore a shared commitment to building a more efficient and transparent justice system for all.
