Consultation Session Held on Punjab's Vision for e-Libraries and e-Books

Secretary Archives & Libraries Muhammad Khan Ranjha chaired a consultation session to discuss Punjab's vision for e-Libraries and e-Books with key stakeholders, including PITB and Punjab Libraries Foundation. The session was organized in collaboration with Deputy Director of the Punjab Libraries Foundation Rehman Asif.

The objective of the session was also to brief the attendees on the visionary initiative of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and have them, especially the publishers and authors, participate in the ‘Expression of Interest (EOI)’ document developed by PITB and the Archives and Libraries Wing Punjab.

Furthermore, they were briefed on the importance of adopting digital formats through e-Libraries and e-Books. The initiative aligns with CM Punjab's commitment to promoting digital education and making learning accessible for all. The event marked an important milestone in fostering collaboration between the government and the authors and publishers to transform Punjab's library infrastructure into a digital knowledge hub.

Senior government officials, authors and publishers including Secretary Cooperatives Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi, Director General Industries Asif Ali Farukh, Director General Libraries Kashif Manzoor, Chairman Punjab Liquidation Board Zaheer Abbas, PITB ADG IT Kashif Farooq, Chief IT Planning & Development (P&D) Board Waqas Ranjha, Director Majlis Taraki Adab Abbas Tabish, Chief Education P&D Board Shahid Iqbal, Jang Group Senior Editor Wasif Nagi, Director Archives Punjab Shamim Asghar and Chief Librarian Punjab University Haroon Usmani were also present.
