Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Agricultural Tubewell Solarization Project through a digital balloting process to facilitate the farmer community in the province.
The initiative focuses on transitioning tubewell operations to solar power, aiming to reduce energy costs and promote sustainability in the agriculture sector. In the first phase, 8,000 tubewells across Punjab will be converted to solar energy.
Senior Officials including Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Punjab Information & Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bokhari, Punjab Agriculture & Livestock Minister Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo and PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf were present at the occasion.
