As part of the ‘Industrial Visit’ activity, a delegation from Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC) Karachi visited PITB to get acquainted with the ICT interventions rolled out by the Government of Punjab. The delegation comprised PN Under Training Officers and was presided by Cdr Dr Faheem Ur Rehman PN and Lt Cdr Ghulam Mehdi Bhutto PN.
PITB ADG Syed Qasim Ifzal along with Director IT-Solutions Rana Abid Mehmood and Joint Director IT-Operations Usman Waheed gave presentations on the tech-driven initiatives implemented across Punjab and those replicated by the other provinces. Automation of smart policing and law and order as well as data driven and agri-tech interventions were highlighted in particular.
The delegation also visited the ASTP (Arfa Software Technology Park) facilities, where PITB ADG Admin Air Cdre. (Retired) Itazaz Hussain Warraich and PITB Director Haroon Rasul Khokhar gave an overview on different systems and procedures. The visit concluded with a briefing on the citizen centric services at e-Khdimat Markaz.
The core purpose of the visit was to give the officers an exposure of field activities and how IT is transforming public service delivery.
