PITB held a series of meetings with prestigious education institutes, including The Punjab University (PU), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and University of Management & Technology (UMT) to explore opportunities for academic collaboration under the Chief Minister Punjab’s initiative ‘MakerSpace Punjab.’
The discussions focused on engaging students, researchers and faculty for hands-on prototyping, technical workshops, mentorship and research so to turn innovative ideas into tangible products.
‘MakerSpace Punjab’ is the Government of Punjab's first government-backed makerspace being established at Arfa Karim Tower Lahore. Equipped with specialized labs for PCB, IoT, 3D Printing, CNC, Robotics, AR/VR and Usability, the facility will provide advanced resources for product design, prototyping, testing and validation.
Through strong academia-industry linkages, ‘MakerSpace Punjab’ aims to foster a culture of innovation, support hardware development and empower the next generation of technology innovators.
