With the highest percentage of budget for education (27%), the government of Punjab has taken a breakthrough step by making the government's education data public.
"This will lead towards transparent and accountable government and encourage data driven journalism in Pakistan. Moreover, citizens will be empowered enough to scrutinize the government. In near future, data of other departments will also be publicized", said Dr. Umar Saif, Chairman PITB in a press conference today.
