Mr. Syed Qasim Afzal serves as Director General IT at PITB, overseeing large-scale technology initiatives across critical government verticals, including the Criminal Justice Sector, Armed Forces, Excise and Digital Transport Governance, and Labour, HR, Mines and Minerals.
His work has led to the automation of police departments, implementation of Safe City projects, the establishment of National Crime and Criminal Databases, the establishment of the first Open Loop Digital Transport Governance System, and development of advanced intelligence and monitoring systems. These initiatives have significantly strengthened integrated governance and public safety frameworks.
Associated with PITB since 2015, Mr. Afzal brings extensive experience in delivering national and international IT projects. He holds academic qualifications from LUMS and FAST, along with professional certifications, including PMP and ITIL, and has authored research on technology-driven public sector reforms.
