Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar launched the Rehmat-ul-Lil Alameen (PBUH) Scholarship Programme for the students of public sector schools and universities. He also inaugurated its web portal developed by PITB allowing applicants to register and apply for scholarship online.
Initially, 14,891 students of Intermediate and BS (Hons) will be given scholarships worth PKR 41.70 crore. The amount will be increased to one billion rupees in the next budget. Provincial Minister Higher Education Punjab Raja Yassir Hamayun, Special Assistant to CM Punjab Firdous Ashiq Awan, Punjab Secretary Higher Education Department (HED) Nadeem Mahboob, PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor, PITB DG-IT Solutions Waqar Naeem Qureshi and JD IT-Solutions Sajjad Ahmad Qureshi were also present at the occasion.
