PITB representatives gave a demonstration of Kissan Card and Retailer Initiated Transactions systems to Punjab Minister of Agriculture Hussain Jahania Gardezi in a special meeting held in Multan. The Retailer Initiated Transactions system, which is an integral part of Kisan Card, will provide instant discounts to farmers on purchase of agricultural inputs like fertilizers, seeds and pesticides etc.
In addition to this, Kissan Card will help farmers to withdraw subsidy payments from any ATM across Punjab while helping the government to verify and authenticate farmers and disburse payments. The system is developed by PITB in collaboration with Punjab Agriculture Department and Habib Bank Limited ( HBL).
