e-Abiana system developed by PITB for Punjab Irrigation Department is a digital mechanism for collection of water charges and fines. The initiative, launched in February this year, has revolutionized the outdated collection system by enabling the irrigators to make payments from the comfort of their homes. The bills are electronically generated ensuring transparency and accountability.
