Higher Education Minister’s Press Conference regarding Startup Punjab

Punjab Minister for Higher Education and IT Raja Yassir Humayun held a press conference at the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) regarding the participation of startups from Punjab in the Dubai Expo 2020. A dedicated portal, 'Startup Punjab', developed by PITB, has been set up to facilitate registration and selection of startups. Chairman PITB Azfar Manzoor and PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif were also present at the occasion.
The Minister reiterated Punjab's commitment to empowering the youth staing that a key objective of the portal is to bridge the disconnect between Pakistani startups and international investors. The registration of startups on the portal kicked off on 30th September 2021 and remained open for 10 days. The portal received a total of 311 applications. After evaluation by a third party, 20 startups were selected for participation in the Dubai Expo 2020. The startups from Punjab will be showcasing their products and services from November 16th to 28th.
