Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) implemented by PITB at Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen Institute of Cardiology (RAIC) of PESSI aspires to create a "Paperless Office" and has already significantly reduced the use of paper at the hospital. Patients' and administrative data is being recorded and reported efficiently via HMIS.
To date, 7,375,912 units of medicine have been dispensed whereas 33,100 patient appointments, 11,015 lab tests, 2,954 blood bank orders, 1,608 patient admissions and 615 journal voucher entries have been recorded by the system.
Continuing with the PITB-PESSI collaboration, the extension of the HMIS system is also in process at 16 other hospitals of PESSI.
