PITB developed Prisons Management Information System (PMIS) has ensured efficient control and management of jail affairs while helping the prison management in making timely decisions. The automation of manual data through PMIS is also helping in maintaining a comprehensive online database with the use of an automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS), planning and execution of reformatory measures, regulation and management of day-to-day affairs related to courts, and updating database of the prison staff.
