A key stakeholder’s session regarding Online Statistical System of Punjab was chaired by Chairman PITB Muhammad Asif Balal Lodhi at PITB. Senior officials from the Agriculture, Industries and Tourism departments of Punjab as well as PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif, DG IT Solutions Waqar Naeem Qureshi, ADG Software Engineering Adil Iqbal Khan, Addl. PD OSSP Muhammad Fahad Masood and Director Operations Rana Abid Mehmood were among the key participants.
Chairman PITB discussed the departments’ current data state highlighting data Inconsistency, Duplication & Limited Data Sharing across Departments, Data Synchronization, Data Security and Data Privacy issues etc.
Through this system, a central data management/sharing platform will ensure single data versioning ensuring reliability, security, accuracy and consistency across all the departments. The system will also help improve governance, decision making, timely service delivery and social and economic uplift of the province.
Online Statistical System of Punjab is an initiative of the Punjab Government and is being executed by PITB in collaboration with Planning & Development Board Punjab and Bureau of Statistics Punjab.
