PITB and Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) hosted a conference on 'Smart Policing in Digital Age' in Karachi. The conference aimed at highlighting the impact of Crime Analytics and Smart Policing in Pakistan. The future roadmap for the provincial rollouts was also discussed.
PITB and MoITT have worked together for piloting of these systems deployed in the provincial capitals of Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK), and Islamabad. These Police IT Systems are presently functional in 184 police stations nationwide. PITB, MoITT and the Provincial Police Departments are striving to expand these system to whole of Pakistan.
The conference was attended by senior officials from Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), AJK, and GB police departments, PITB, MoITT, National Police Bureau, and Safe City Islamabad.
