PITB, in collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nation (FAO), has launched Pakistan Animal Identification and Traceability System (PAITS). Developed by PITB, the system integrates a Web Portal and a Mobile App to help in Identification, Registration, Tracing, Health Check & Real-Time Monitoring of animals across Pakistan.
Senior officials from the stakeholder departments, including Animal Husbandry Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Akram and FAO Project Coordinator Dr. Muhammad Afzal, attended the ceremony. PITB IT-Ops Additional Director General Khurram Mushtaq, Project Director Ali Raza Kheiri, Joint Director Qaiser Shabbir and Senior Program Manager Rana Umair were also present.
The ceremony was followed by a training session to acquaint the focal persons with the system. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A session.
