Meeting to Facilitate Farmers Through Kissan Package was Held at PITB

A meeting to chalk out ways to facilitate farmers through Kissan package was held at PITB today. Spearheaded by Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif, the meeting was attended by the agriculture department and all major telcos. Under the Kissan package, the idea of providing farmers with an e-credit facility was tabled, which will enable farmers to buy necessary material while increasing their buying capacity. Faisal Yousaf (DG IT Operations, PITB) and Bilal Naeem (JD Development & Procurement, PITB) were also present at the meeting. Participants of the meeting appreciated Dr Saif for his utmost dedication and lauded the efforts contributed by PITB.
PITB is actively working with the Agriculture department of the government to implement tech-driven solutions for better production of crops. Implementation of a ‘Cognitive System’, powered by PITB, will facilitate agriculturalists and farmers to improve their business prospects
