A progress review meeting was held between PITB and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) regarding Pakistan Animal Identification & Traceability System (PAITS) at FAO head office in Islamabad.
PITB IT-Ops Joint Director Qaiser Shabbir and Senior Program Manager Rana Umair briefed the participants over the development status and future road map of the project. The participants including Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Management Specialist Dr. Muhammad Afzal, National Consultant on Animal Traceability Dr. Naveed Niazi and National Field Officer- Epidemiology were also present.
Initiated in collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nation (FAO), PAITS integrates a Web Portal and a Mobile App to help in Identification, Registration, Tracing, Health Check & Real-Time Monitoring of animals across Pakistan.
