As part of the ‘Industrial Visit’ activity, a delegation comprising Pakistan Navy (PN) trainee officers from the Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC) visited PITB. The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into ICT interventions rolled out by the Government of Punjab particularly in the areas of law & order and citizen facilitation services.
PITB Director IT-Operations Syed Qasim Ifzal gave a detailed briefing on the tech initiatives falling under the umbrella of smart policing and law and order. PITB Senior Program Manager e-Governance Mirza Muhammad Umar gave an overall view of PITB initiatives some of which have been implemented in other provinces as well. Representative of Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) Sohaib Qadri gave the delegation a tour of the various facilities. The delegation also visited the e-Khidmat Center.
The core purpose of the visit was to give officers some exposure of field activities and how IT is transforming public service delivery.
