Federal Minister of Planning & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal chaired a meeting on skill development initiatives carried out by different Ministries and departments nationwide.
During the meeting, he emphasized on the need for developing an implementable road map which will ensure maximum youth skill development and empowerment. He encouraged all the stakeholders to work in a synchronous way and come up with initiatives that will focus on reducing skills gap and generate foreign exchange for the country.
PITB Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif highlighted the success of PITB executed initiatives namely National Freelance Training Program (NFTP) and e-Rozgaar. He further added that PITB is also shifting its focus on trainings in advanced technologies of Web 3.0, Blockchain, Metaverse etc. through boot camps. He explained how internationally applied triple helix model of innovation through Government, Industry and Academia linkage is needed.
PITB Joint Director Chaudhry Ahmad Islam Syan and senior officials from MoIT&T, PSEB, NITB, Virtual University, Ministry of Science & Technology, HEC and Ministry of Education were also present.
