PITB team visited Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Islamabad to give detailed orientation on Pakistan Animal Identification & Traceability System (PAITS) to Livestock Importers and Exporters. Representatives from FAO, Animal Husbandry Commissioner Office and Livestock Importer/Exporters from across Pakistan attended the session via Zoom. PITB team briefed about different modules, flows and functionalities of PAITS.
The participants appreciated the concept of the system and efforts of PITB in uplifting the overall livestock sector in Pakistan. They also acknowledged that since the system was being developed in accordance with international regulations, it would be beneficial in boosting the livestock trade at both national and international levels.
