More than 132,075 challans have been issued since the introduction of e-Ticketing system in September 2015. Once a ticket is slapped, the violator immediately receives SMS regarding his violation and penalty. The offenders are also given a receipt of payment of e-ticket. Record of each commuter who violates rules is documented and the track helps to spot repetitive offenders. The system has been devised by PITB for National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) in order to discourage malpractice.
