Representatives from Punjab Traffic Police, PITB, Punjab Transport Department and Punjab Highway Police Department held a meeting to deliberate on various IT initiatives. Transport Department Director IT Muhammad Asim suggested integrating the Vehicle Inspection and Certification System (VICS) API into the PITB-developed Digital Warden Mobile Application. This integration will identify and pinpoint drivers without valid route permits and fitness certificates.
PITB ADG Qasim Ifzal proposed sending challans to the nearest VICS Centers, compelling violators to obtain the necessary documents along with paying fines. The participants including DIG Dr. Athar Waheed PSP, Director Transport Unit Waseem Mahmood, Punjab Traffic Headquarters DSP Muhammad Wasim, PITB Joint Director Arsalan Manzoor, SPM Rai Rashid, SPM Nauman Nadeem and SSE Mamoon Sharif unanimously endorsed the recommendations.
