An MoU has been signed between PITB and the Commissioner Office Rawalpindi to set up an IT Hub in the city on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akthar Zaman graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and also announced establishing co-working spaces for freelancers.
The MoU was signed by PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif and Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatha on behalf of their respective offices.
During the ceremony, Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman emphasized that the prime goal of the IT Hub is to provide ample IT opportunities to the young minds of the twin cities.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatha thanked Chairman PITB Faisal Yousaf for diligently working with them on this project for the past three months and lauded PITB for its support.
Additionally, PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif gave an overview of PITB ICT initiatives that are actively focusing on youth empowerment and knowledge economy. He emphasized PITB's e-Rozgaar has already graduated 7500 freelancers of which 61% are women.
Senior officials including PITB's Director Ali Zeb were also present at the occasion.
