PITB organized an online training session for all the environmental inspectors of Environment Protection Agency regarding the newly developed mobile application ECOWATCH.
PITB Senior Program Manager Moeen Akhtar and IT Associate Sheikh Muhammad Saad delivered the training on two components of ECOWATCH namely 'Smog Surveys' and 'Hospital Waste Inspections.'
The purpose 'Smog Surveys' is to conduct surveys of industrial units that have the potential to release harmful emissions into the environment and contribute to smog. It will also collect data on the emissions, pollution sources, and other relevant parameters. These surveys aim to identify and assess the impact of industrial activities on air quality and smog formation.
The 'Hospital Waste Inspections' as part of ECOWATCH would allow inspectors or authorized personnel to conduct surveys and inspections. The App would also streamline the data collection process and enable real-time reporting and updates.
