As part of the on-going improvements, the PITB Software Engineering (SE) wing has started the 'Security by Design Initiative' that is focused on enhancing Cyber Security Resilience at the Application and Database Level (for both Web Based and Mobile Apps). The objective of this is to embed Cyber Security into the Software Development Life Cycle.
Under this program, the SE Team would ensure that Cyber Security Best Practices are followed from the inception of an idea to the application architecture, development, QA and UAT stages. This program includes development of vital processes, use of VAPT Tools and hardening of applications to ensure the products and services offered by PITB are secure and resilient.
Regarding this, a session was held today in which the implementation plan was given by Director Muhammad Jahanzeb Akbar and Senior Software Engineer Arslan Rafique, which specified the key milestones and deliverables. They also explained the importance of the adoption of the standards and urged all the SE Team Management to actively contribute towards the success of this program.
