Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman formally inaugurated the e-Filing and Office Automation System (e-FOAS) in a meeting held at Punjab Civil Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Senior Member Board of Revenue, Additional Chief Secretary, Departmental Secretaries, Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners. PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf and DG Government Digital Services Muhammad Waseem Bhatti were also present on the occasion.
Chief Secretary Punjab also directed to make the offices of Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners across Punjab paperless via e-FOAS. He lauded the PITB team for their commitment and dedication to the cause of Digital Punjab.
The complete suite of e-FOAS includes e-Summaries, e-Notes, e-Noting, e-Letters, Meeting Scheduling, Help Desk, Inter & Intra Departmental Communication, File Scanning & Archiving. The system, implemented across Punjab, aims at enhancing transparency and efficiency in all departments, resulting in substantial annual savings for the public exchequer.
e-FOAS has been fully implemented in Punjab Civil Secretariat. All Administrative Departments, Attached & Autonomous Bodies, Other Functional Units (OFUs), Field Formations, Companies etc. will be interconnected via e-FOAS in due course.
