Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Shaheen serves as the Additional Director General (Administration) at the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), where he oversees administrative governance, infrastructure planning, occupational risk management, security, and organizational support functions critical to PITB’s operations.
He brings over three decades of distinguished service in the Pakistan Air Force, where he held key command and staff appointments, including Base Commander and Officer Commanding of AWACS and AEW&C squadrons. His experience includes infrastructure development projects (particularly in Islamabad), hardcore air operations, operational audit management, human resource management, and high-level security and administrative oversight, along with system induction and operationalization initiatives that enhanced operational readiness and institutional efficiency.
At Air Headquarters level, he served in several key roles, including Base Commander AHQ Islamabad, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Personnel – Airmen), and Deputy Director Operations and Plans. In these positions, he managed active air operations, state-level security and protocol, multifaceted development initiatives, large operational teams, and financial oversight for major induction and development programs.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Peshawar, a Master’s in War Studies from the National Defence University, Pakistan, and a Master’s in Security Strategies and Aerospace Power from the National Defence University, Istanbul, Turkey. He is widely recognized for his strategic leadership, operational excellence, and contributions to institutional development.
