Director General (IT Operations)

Faisal Yousaf, Director General at PITB, has assumed the Additional Charge of Chairman Punjab IT Board w.e.f. January 13, 2023. An industry veteran, he commands an impressive portfolio of experience spanning 24 years. Faisal Yousaf is credited with initiating cutting edge tech interventions for the Government of Punjab, some of which have also been adopted by other provinces.

Director General (e-Governance)

With over 22 years of rigorous experience in public and private sector organizations, Mr. Sajid Latif brings with him extensive knowledge, understanding and expertise of ICTs and their interlinkages with the governance systems.  PITB has successfully implemented several large-scale e-Governance interventions under his guidance. Some of these projects include e-Stamping, e-Khidmat Centers, Punjab Public Management Reforms Program, e-Filling and Office Automation System (e-FOAS), SMDP, Punjab Charities Registration Portal, Baldia Online App, Tourism App, Ease of Doing Business interventions, Technology Incubation Programs and Freelancing Training Programs, among others. .

Director General (IT Solutions)

Waqar N. Qureshi is an IT industry veteran with over 25 years of local and international experience in IT management, software development, and large-scale rollout of globally-proven ICT solutions. He has successfully spearheaded several important information technology initiatives for Education, Health, Transport, Livestock, and Agriculture sectors - including the provisioning of e-citizen services, automated fare collection systems, and m-governance applications.
 
Prior to joining PITB, he has held leading IT management positions at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan, United Technologies Carrier, UAE, and Vroom Technologies, USA. He has a double-major in computer science and economics.

Director General (Government Digital Services)

A refined Technology Strategist, Portfolio Manager & Implementer in the public & private sectors, Muhammad Waseem Bhatti as Additional Director General (Citizen Facilitation Services), is leading the Punjab Information Technology Board’s portfolio of flagship programs across PAKISTAN for e-Khidmat Marakaz (150+ Services), Ease of Doing Business, Zero Time to Startup (ZTTS),  Construction Regime (e-Construction), Government API Stack, Acquisition of Public Services (e-Services), Financial Planning & Management (SMDP, iPAS, PRPP), Information System Development & Management (FIMs, VMS), Short Message Servicing for Public Sector and Making Government Paperless & Efficient (e-FOAS, Cabinet Management, PAKISTAN Airforce (PAF), PAKISTAN International Airlines (PIA), CAA, PAKISTAN CRICKET BOARD (PCB), NICL, OMBUDSMAN PUNJAB, NSPP, METRO BUS AUTHORITY, NHMP, etc.).

Director General (Business Development & Training)

Saima Shaikh, a Master’s in Computer Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), holds a diverse working experience of 20 plus years in corporate, education and government sector. She embarked upon her professional career as an entrepreneur laying the foundation of LumenSoft Technologies. Later she diverted towards academia and headed the Computer Science Department of Kinnaird College for Women. During her strong academic career, she also worked as an Adjunct Faculty at LUMS. Further, she has been conducting workshops on ICT and e-Governance with Senior Civil Servants since 2001.

In 2010, Ms. Shaikh joined Punjab IT Board and since then she has led some key projects of Government of The Punjab. Refining and Streamlining Online Web Presence of Punjab Government Departments, Punjab Law Portal, numerous development projects of Punjab and various IT trainings, conferences & workshops are some major achievements to her credit.

 

 

 

 

 

Chief Technology Officer

Adil Iqbal Khan has 12 years experience of software engineering and technology reforms in public and private sector.

He is leading the software development team at PITB that aims at improving performance of Health, Education,  Agriculture & other departments. He is one of the key members of Police Technology Reforms Project recently scaled across Punjab.

Prior to joining PITB, Adil worked as Data Integration Consultant at Teradata, Assistant Manager at Mobilink and Software Engineer at Techlogix. Adil holds BS(CS) degree from FAST-NU Lahore and MS(CS) degree from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Adil can be reached on Twitter and LinkedIn.

 

 

Chief Information Security Officer

Sajjad has more than 13 years experience in IT industry with an extensive expertise in Designing and Implementations of an Enterprise IT Infrastructures, Datacentre with best of the breed and cost effective solutions. He has hands-on experience of IT Systems, Business Process Automation, Cloud based Infrastructure, Dynamic Datacentre, Security Infrastructure tools & technologies, Enterprise Monitoring solutions,and information assets for diverse companies and organisations.

He delivered more than 50 trainings to different organisations. He holds high level Datacentre (CDCP), Microsoft (MCT, MCITP, MCTS), Infrastructure Library (ITIL v3), Storage and Project Management Certifications and Trainings.

Additional Director General (IT Project Management)

Khurram Mushtaq has an extensive experience in strategic and operational leadership role in both private and public sectors. He has managed projects in the field of ICT & Telecom, Management Consulting and ICT4D. His core domains are project management, teams and system development, creativity & innovation and business development.
 

Additional Director General (Administration)

He is having 20 years of vast experience in administration and senior level management. He is experienced and skillful in the start-up and leadership of new organizations with management experience in the strategic planning, staffing, budgeting, resource allocation and leadership of administrative field, maintenance, training and logistics. He has been handling the procurement, control, management and supervision of operations and maintenance of entire fleet of transport. He has been involved at different levels in close coordination, building government relations, media projection, planning and implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility Projects.

Additional Director General (IT Operations)

Syed Qasim Afzal has been working with PITB since Dec 2015. With his educational background of LUMS and FAST and holding international certifications, he has vast experience in the implementation of national and international projects. He is working as Director IT operations and is looking over the technology initiatives in the criminal justice sector at provincial and federal level.

Additional Director General (Software Engineering)

Omar Salman has been a part of PITB team since January 2017. With a BS (Computer Science) degree from FAST Lahore, MS (Computer Science) degree from LUMS, and an additional MS (Software Engineering) degree from the University of York UK, Omar has a passion for developing large scale systems, for technology reforms in the public sector, and in supporting data driven policy making.

Additional Director General (IT)

Muhammad Kashif Farooq is presently serving as the Additional Director General-IT (ADG-IT) at the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). His career journey has been as follows:

He initially joined PITB in 1999 and worked there until 2005. Following this, he joined LUMS for a research project related to eGovernance. He published various research papers in the field of ICT, and he re-joined PITB in 2010.

During his tenure at PITB, he has been actively involved in and has overseen various projects related to EdTech, Social Welfare, eLibraries, the judicial sector, and other public sector organizations. His wealth of experience and contributions have been integral to these initiatives.

Chief Financial Officer / Secretary to Board

Nadia Riaz comes from a diverse academic and professional background. Her professional experience expands over a time span of ten year. She has been a part of some of the best local and multi-national organizations. After graduating from UET Lahore, she diverted her expertise towards the finance industry upon completing her MBA degree with majors in Finance from Lahore University of Management Sciences. Her areas of work and interest are corporate finance, risk management and private equity. Today, she is benefitting Punjab IT Board with her intuitive proficiency as the Chief Financial Officer.

Director (Human Resources)

Mr. Ahmed Adeel is heading HR Wing of PITB. This promising individual has more than 14 years of experience in the areas of Human Resource Management, HR Information Systems deployment and HR & Manpower analysis. He has done MBA (HR) and has served numerous prestigious organizations including Lahore University of Management Sciences – LUMS. Adeel has helped in refining and streamlining various HR processes and under his leadership HR Wing is providing HR Related operational and strategic support to multiple projects executed by PITB.

His expertise are in developing HR processes and embed policies and procedures into Information Systems. He is working on various HR related initiatives including deployment of HRIS that will make HR related information readily available and will automate various HR processes.

 

Director (Development & Procurement)

As Director at PITB, Ata is heading Development & Procurement wing. He holds Master degree in Business Administration with concentration on Technology Management. Ata brings with him more than a decade of experience working with Federal Government and donors such as the World Bank and DFID. Ata has helped us to reform our procurement process and manage development portfolio of ADP schemes worth 10 billion rupees.

As a public management professional, Ata has got extensive knowledge and experience of public procurement and public sector projects funded by international development organizations. Besides leading Development & Procurement team; he is also working on E-procurement project, aimed to automate Government procurements at state level in collaboration with PPRA and the World Bank.

Director (Communication and Coordination)

Hasnain Iqbal is presently working as a Director at PITB leading the flagship Punjab Government Program, Citizen Feedback Monitoring Program (CFMP). The province wide program aims at improving public service delivery using citizen feedback and facilitate officials in evidence based decision making. CFMP was included by World Bank in its Innovation Report 2018 as one of the 15 initiatives globally that have successfully improved service delivery through the use of technology.

 

 

 

Director (Audit)

Irtaza Hashmat is leading the Internal Audit wing of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Government of the Punjab as Director Audit. He is performing advisory role for multiple projects executed by PITB related to various departments of Government of the Punjab. Hashmat has diverse experience of working in public as well as private sector, of more than 13 years in the field of Audit and Finance. He is an Associate Forensic Auditor (AFA), Certified Internal Control Auditor (CICA), Certified Financial Consultant (CFC), Certified Forensic & Audit Analyst (CFrA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and partly qualified Cost & Management Accountant.
Besides managing the Internal Audit Wing, Hashmat is also looking after the legal wing of PITB in coordination with legal advisors of PITB.
